WHAT DO WE LOOK FOR IN AN APPLICANT?

Storyboard Artists

Look Mom! Productions is looking for driven and talented Storyboard Artists of all experience levels to help us create the visual storytelling for our slate of animated programs. We're looking for artists with a strong talent for posing, staging and action. An ability to keep characters and layouts on model, while telling dynamic, clear visual stories is a must.

Key Responsibilities:

Storyboard artists at Look Mom! Productions work with the director and showrunner to create storyboards based on provided scripts and radio play. Board artists will create thumbnail, first pass and revision passes as needed according to schedule. Board artists at LM!P are responsible for cutting and timing out their boards to the provided nat-pause/radio play. Daily contact with their teammates, supervisors, director and other studio personnel is very important.

Animators

LM!P is on the lookout for talented 2D animators of all experience levels. As an animator on our adult animated programs, your main responsibility will be to bring the cast of the show to life. Because our productions are very character-acting oriented, you will be expected to use provided reference materials, as well as your own acting skills to bring out the performances of our characters.

Key Responsibilities:

As an animator you will need a working knowledge of Harmony ToonBoom software, the ability to both use rigs and go beyond the rig to redraw poses and expressions, draw assets into your scenes as needed, along with the ability to use node view. Animators must be comfortable inserting backgrounds with their animation, implementing correct layering and framing. You'll work alongside your team and supervisor to ensure the overall consistency and quality level of each episode shot by shot.

BG Artists

Background artists at Look Mom! Productions are responsible for creating background layout drawings based on provided storyboards and other references. LM!P's slate of shows tend towards the wild and fantastical so we're on the lookout for artists who share a passion for imaginative locations and impossible worlds. Because we are a small team, often the BG artist will be responsible for both layout and painting of a BG, so artists with an interest in all levels of BG production are very welcome.

Key Responsibilities:

BG artists work directly with their BG supervisor, Series Art Director and Series Director to maintain the look and feel of the series throughout their work. Artists will interpret storyboards, supervisor’s notes and director’s input to create BG layout drawings before executing the colour painting of the BG within the painting style of the show.
